Assam Rifles is the highest awarded and decorated Para Military Force of the Republic of India. Assam Rifles is called the “Sentinels of the North East”. It is the oldest military unit of the country and was established in the year 1835. Over the years, Assam Rifles has grown from 17 battalions in 1960 to 46 at present. Headquarters of Assam Rifles is located in Shilong and is governed by the Ministry of Home Affairs, India.

The main objective of Assam Rifles is to ensure the safety and security of the people from external as well as internal dangers.   • The applying candidate must not be of age more or less than18-23 years as of 01 Jan 2021
  • Age relaxations as per Govt. rules will be given to the candidates of the SC/ST/OBC Category.
